American Civil Liberties Union Maine- https://www.aclumaine.org

Brings lawsuits to protect our rights and holds workshops via Zoom

 

Building Bridges Maine - www.buildingbridgesmaine.org an affiliate of Braver Angels. Focuses on talking across divides.

 

Indivisible Sagadahoc - a place to find information on local rallies and events. Indivisible groups organize locally to defend democracy, respond to key issues, and pressure elected officials. Indivisible Sagadahoc can be found on Facebook and Substack.


Lincoln County Indivisible

Has a Facebook page for organizing local actions, rallies, and events.

 

Maine Council of Churches -www.mainecouncilofchurches.org 

This group provides workshops and training in how to help immigrants know their rights from a faith perspective.

 

Maine League of Women Voters -  www.maineleagueofwomenvoters - keeps tabs on what’s  happening in Augusta, which bills are being considered and when, how to submit testimony

A project to welcome immigrants and connect them with the wider community. Fosters personal relationships.

A social justice and civic engagement organization which educates, empowers, and engages young people, especially black and immigrant voices.

 

Community Relief Fund (CRF) - https://www.communityrelief.me/ A community and BIPcC led mutual aid and rapid response group. They offer support to families who have had their family members taken by ICE or the Border Patrol.

Maine’s only state-wide legal advocacy organization for immigrants.

Maine Immigrant Rights Coalition (MIRC)  - https://maineimmigrantrights.org/ - This group focuses on “learning how to help”. It works to improve legal, social, and economic conditions for immigrants in Maine.

Project Relief Maine - https://projectreliefme.com/.  Black immigrant-led mutual aid and racial justice collective based in Maine, working every day to protect families, fight deportations, and provide food, shelter, and legal support when systems fail
